· SOUS CHEF will assist our Chef-Owner in all aspects of daily operation. You will have a vital role in our kitchen. You will be responsible for planning, directing and executing daily food preparation. Your role includes supervising other kitchen staff, as well as keeping an eye out for problems that may arise in the kitchen in Chef’s absence and seizing control of a situation at a moment’s notice. You will lead our kitchen line by working saute and grill.
· To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have a strong and proven culinary history. Most importantly, you will have proven references which demonstrate your trustworthiness, reliability, and work ethic. You should be an effective communicator, and be able to demonstrate outstanding leadership and organizational abilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with Chef-Owner Tommy to produce menu items in accordance with our restaurant’s policy and vision
- Come up with new nightly features which appeal to our customers, whenever required
- Help organize responsibilities in the kitchen so that everything works like a “well-oiled machine”
- Lead our busy kitchen line nightly by preparing high quality dishes that follow our established menu and meet our standards of excellence
- Train new kitchen staff members in order to provide best results in minimum time
- Maintain order in the kitchen in Chef’s absence
- 3+ years of professional culinary experience
- Broad working understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
- Excellent record of attendance, attitude, work ethic and skill, with references
- Accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutions
- Familiar with industry’s best practices
- If required, comfortable, low-cost housing can be provided to the right individual after an employment trial
